A wheel sorter is an automated sorting system using small motorized wheels that rotate at angles to divert packages to different destinations. The wheels gently push parcels sideways onto designated chutes while the main conveyor keeps moving. It offers gentle handling, high-speed operation, compact design, and is ideal for e-commerce and parcel sorting facilities.
Our Wheel Sorter can handle a wide range of package types, such as boxes, cartons, totes, and poly bags. It can accommodate items with flat or stable bottoms and is particularly effective for handling large and heavy items up to 75 kg. However, this sortation equipment works best with products that have regular shapes and can maintain stability during the sorting process.
Wheel sorters are generally energy-efficient compared to some traditional sorting methods. The servo-motor-powered wheel modules activate only when diverting is needed, reducing continuous energy consumption. The system’s modular design allows sections to operate independently, so energy is used only where sorting activity occurs. The actual energy consumption depends on throughput volume, operating hours, and system configuration.
